About FinOptimal

FinOptimal builds accounting automation software for modern accounting teams and operators. We started as an accounting firm, built internal tools to solve our own problems, and turned those tools into software used by firms and companies across the U.S.

Our products help teams move toward a more continuous close in QuickBooks by automating manual, error-prone accounting workflows. We sell to accountants, controllers, and finance teams who care deeply about accuracy, efficiency, and clean systems, and we take a practical, operator-first approach to everything we build.

The Role

We’re hiring a Founding SDR whose job is simple in concept and demanding in execution: pack the calendar with held, high-quality meetings.

This is not a follow-the-playbook role. You will be building the playbook. You will own outbound end to end, including messaging, infrastructure, deliverability, tooling, experimentation, and results. We will train you on what our product does and who we sell to, but we expect you to already know how to do outbound properly.

If you have done this before and want full ownership, this role will feel like freedom.

What You’ll Do
  • Own outbound sourcing from strategy through execution
  • Book 30 held meetings per month through outbound efforts you directly generate
  • Write, test, and iterate on outbound copy across email and other channels
  • Build and maintain outbound infrastructure including domains, warm-up, deliverability, and tooling
  • Source and build your own lists and segments
  • Experiment, learn, document, and turn what works into a repeatable playbook
  • Run outbound with discipline and good judgment without burning domains, reputation, or trust
  • Focus primarily on net-new or long-dormant prospects rather than paid inbound leads
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience booking meetings through outbound sales
  • Strong outbound copywriting skills with a track record of generating replies
  • Deep familiarity with outbound tooling and infrastructure
  • Ability to set things up yourself and figure things out without hand-holding
  • Good judgment around deliverability, ethics, and brand protection
  • A builder mindset with comfort operating in ambiguity
  • Preference for ownership and accountability over rigid process

This role is for someone who already knows how to do outbound and wants autonomy and real responsibility.

Requirements
  • Demonstrated success as an SDR or outbound sales rep
  • Clear evidence you can consistently book meetings via cold outbound
  • Experience managing or owning outbound tooling and infrastructure
  • Ability to work independently without a pre-built playbook
  • Strong written communication skills
  • U.S.-based and authorized to work in the U.S.
Compensation
  • On-target compensation: $90,000 - $110,000 depending on experience
    • On-target compensation is a mix of base salary (70-75%) and variable cash compensation (25-30%).
    • Variable cash compensation is uncapped. If you exceed your goals, you will be compensated for it.
  • 401K plan with employer match
  • Unlimited PTO and 10 paid company holiday
  • Medical / Dental / Vision & Supplemental Insurance Coverage
    • Full premium paid, full HSA employer contribution if opting to go with the high-deductible plan.
    • Low deductible and out of pocket plan fully paid if opting to not go with the high-deductible plan.

You will have autonomy to choose and operate the outbound stack within reason. If you can justify the tools and know how to use them, we will support it.

Why This Role

This is a true founding SDR role. You will have:

  • Full ownership of outbound results
  • Real influence over how the function is built
  • The opportunity to remain a strong individual contributor or help scale the function over time

If you want to run someone else’s system, this is not the role.
If you want to build one, it is.
