At FinOptimal You Will:

- Project manage implementations and own client relationships
- Flowchart accounting optimization plans
- Design custom financial and operational dashboards for clients
- Work with the FinOptimal engineering team to develop products and best practices

Please note this is an in-person position, located in either Houston (near Rice Village) or New York (Brooklyn Heights).

At FinOptimal You Will:

- Lead the month-end close process for a portfolio of clients across multiple industries.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, while managing a team of associates that support your assigned book of business.
- Field daily client requests and questions, and develop a deep understanding of your clients’ accounting/controller/FP&A needs.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization with respect to accounting workflows.
- Help map out bookkeeping optimization plans for clients (both to onboard new clients and to help other team members understand automated and manual transaction-booking workflows).
- Work with our engineering team to optimize clients’ accounting workflows.
- Train internal team members and clients on best practices as needed.

Who We Are Looking For:
- Love of accounting!

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
- At least 5 years of accounting/controller/FP&A experience.
- At least 5 years of client-facing/customer service experience.
- Very strong knowledge of accounting best practices, general ledger, and spreadsheets (e.g. Excel and Google Spreadsheets), including knowledge of building models and using Excel functions.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to prioritize and respond to time-sensitive requests.
- Ability to think critically to be a thought partner in improving processes.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and data security.
- Strong desire to build and foster a great work culture.

Highly Desired Qualifications & Skills:
- CPA and/or public accounting experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online

You would communicate primarily by email, phone, and Zendesk (our CRM for client request handling). Hours are reasonably flexible, but performance standards are high.

At FinOptimal You Will:

- Own and define the product roadmap and create clear product requirements
- Play a vital role in developing and innovating our finance automation products for public release (products are currently used only by our internal accountants)
- Collaborate with the ongoing services and growth teams to develop a deep understanding of our clients, identify market needs and initiate new and innovative concepts to solve important customer and business problems
- Drive product vision and strategy execution, communicate roadmap to key stakeholders, leadership, and customers
- Lead cross-functional groups from engineering, design, and other disciplines in an Agile methodology to deliver on the roadmap
- Get in the weeds: write product requirements docs (PRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria, plan sprints, manage and prioritize the backlog, and test the services yourself as they are being built
- Own product performance by setting proper success metrics, tracking and reporting on them to maintain visibility and accountability, and also inform the future product roadmap

Who We Are Looking For:

You have 5+ years of product management experience, focused on delivering quality software and seamless user experience
- You’ve shipped new products or features end-to-end and managed all aspects of products throughout their lifecycle
- You have exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to create close partnerships with engineers, designers, and sales
- You never lose sight of the ultimate end user experiences that your products support and can articulate product requirements in both design and technical terms
- You have an analytical and curious mindset, using data to drive your product decision-making process
