About FinOptimal
FinOptimal is an accounting automation company focused on helping accounting teams work smarter, not harder. We build software products and provide services that automate repetitive accounting workflows, improve accuracy, and enable continuous close for accounting teams and their clients.
Our products are built primarily for the QuickBooks Online ecosystem and are used by accounting firms and businesses to automate journal entries, accruals, reporting, and other core accounting workflows. We work closely with our customers to help them modernize their accounting processes and get real value out of automation.
We are a growing, product-led company that values ownership, curiosity, and practical problem solving. Our team includes accountants, operators, and technologists who care deeply about building useful products and delivering a great customer experience.
What you’ll do
As an Implementation Manager at FinOptimal, your role is to ensure customers successfully adopt our products and get real value from them. You’ll work directly with customers to implement FinOptimal’s accounting automation software in real QuickBooks Online environments, helping them design workflows, troubleshoot issues, and build confidence using our tools.
This role goes beyond reactive onboarding. When your calendar isn’t full, you are expected to proactively identify opportunities to help customers by reviewing usage, spotting adoption gaps, and reaching out to offer support. You own customer adoption and usage outcomes for the accounts you support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Serve as a subject matter expert on FinOptimal’s products and the broader QuickBooks Online ecosystem, understanding how modern accounting teams and firms use connected tools to run their day-to-day operations.
- Lead customer onboarding and implementations beyond basic setup, designing real-world workflows and integrations across FinOptimal and a customer’s existing systems.
- Own the project management of customer onboarding and implementations, setting clear rollout plans, aligning on requirements and timelines, and keeping work on track through key milestones.
- Supporting customers across the full range of needs, from login and setup issues to more technical accounting and workflow questions
- Translating real-world accounting processes into effective, repeatable product workflows
- Monitoring customer usage and proactively identifying under-utilization or at-risk relationships
- Re-engaging customers who are not getting value and helping them get back on track
- Owning a set of customer accounts with responsibility for adoption, usage, and overall success
- Serving as a front-line resource for customer questions when not actively implementing accounts
- Partnering with Sales and Account Management to ensure smooth handoffs and ongoing customer success
- Collaborating with Product, Marketing, and Engineering to surface recurring issues and improve onboarding and product usability
- Contributing to internal documentation, implementation playbooks, and best practices as our products evolve
What we’re looking for
You do not need prior experience in a similar role. While it’s great to have, we value these traits the most:
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including accrual accounting and month-end close concepts
- Hands-on experience working in QuickBooks Online
- Comfort working with software products, automation tools, and evolving technology
- Ability to clearly explain accounting and technical concepts to customers
- Excellent communication skills. You write concise and action-oriented emails, not rambling messes that make the reader’s eyes glaze over.
- Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage your own priorities and calendar
- A proactive mindset — you look for opportunities to help customers rather than waiting to be asked
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, CAS, advisory, or a related role
- Direct experience working with QuickBooks Online
- Customer-facing experience in accounting, client-services, implementation, or support roles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams
Compensation
- $95,000 - $130,000 depending on experience, with a mix of base and variable cash compensation
- 401(k) plan with employer match
- 10 paid company holidays and unlimited PTO
- Medical, Dental, Vision, and Supplemental Insurance coverage
- Full premium paid, full HSA employer contribution if opting for the high-deductible plan
- Low-deductible, low out-of-pocket plan fully paid if opting out of the high-deductible plan
Who is a great fit
This role is ideal for someone with an accounting background who wants to move closer to technology without starting over. You’ll be given real ownership, meaningful responsibility, and the opportunity to shape how customers experience and adopt FinOptimal’s products.
