About FinOptimal:

FinOptimal began in 2015 as a side-hustle of a CFO and Controller who despised manual accounting work. FinOptimal raised venture capital in late 2021 to expand our accounting and technology offerings, and in 2023 launched our flagship app Accruer. In Q1 and Q2 2024 we released Booker and Wrangler respectively, with more apps releasing this year. The company operates two distinct business lines: Apps and Managed Accounting. This role is designed to primarily support the Managed Accounting business line.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage end-to-end AP process from vendor onboarding to month-end close.
  • Enter high-volume vendor bills using proprietary software with accurate coding.
  • Handle daily bank transactions and complete monthly reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with clients and staff to resolve questions, discrepancies, and requests.
  • Maintain and audit vendor records, complying with IRS requirements.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of accounts payable or full-cycle accounting experience.
  • Ability to work 9:00-5:00 Eastern.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. AP compliance requirements, including 1099 reporting and vendor tax documentation.
  • Experience with tools like QBO, Bill.com, Expensify, Gusto, or Ramp.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
